Thank you for shopping with us. We serve fly fishing customers worldwide and want you to be confident in your purchase. Please read our Return & Refund Policy carefully before ordering.
 
 
1. Returns
 
Eligibility for Returns
 
You may return eligible items within 14 days of receiving your order, provided that:
• Items are unused, unfished, and in original condition
• All original packaging, tags, rod tubes, cases, and accessories are included
• Proof of purchase is provided
 
Non-Returnable Items
 
The following items are not eligible for return unless they are defective or incorrect:
• Custom-built or personalized rods
• Flies, leaders, tippets, and terminal tackle (for hygiene and quality reasons)
• Clearance or final sale items
• Gift cards
• Items that show signs of use (e.g., mounted reels, wet gear, line spooled on reels)
 
 
2. How to Initiate a Return
 
To start a return, please contact us at info@theflyemporium.com with:
• Your order number
• The item(s) you wish to return
• Reason for return
 
We will provide return instructions. Returns sent without prior authorization may not be accepted.
 
 
3. Return Shipping (International Orders)
• Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, including international shipping
• Customers are responsible for customs duties, taxes, and brokerage fees
• We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping method, especially for rods and high-value items
• We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping
 
Original shipping charges are non-refundable, unless the return is due to our error.
 
 
4. Refunds
 
Refund Approval
 
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
 
Approved Refunds
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method
• Processing time: 7 business days after approval
• Currency conversion fees or exchange rate differences are not refundable
 
Partial Refunds
 
Partial refunds may be issued if:
• Items are returned damaged, used, or incomplete
• Original packaging or accessories are missing
• The return does not meet eligibility requirements
 
 
5. Exchanges
 
We only replace items if they are defective, damaged during transit, or incorrect.
Please notify us within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the issue.
 
 
6. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
 
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect:
• Contact us within 7 days of receipt
• Provide photos of the item and packaging
 
We will arrange a replacement or refund at no additional cost where applicable.
 
 
7. Rods & High-Value Items (Important)
• Fly rods must be returned unassembled, unused, and in original rod tubes
• Damage caused by misuse, improper assembly, or fishing is not considered a manufacturing defect
• Warranty claims (if applicable) are handled separately from returns
 
 
8. Compliance with Local Laws
 
This policy complies with applicable consumer protection laws. Where local regulations differ, mandatory consumer rights under your country’s laws will apply.

Return & Refund Policy (EU Customers)
 
This section applies only to customers located in the European Union. For customers outside the EU, our standard Return & Refund Policy applies.
 
 
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers)
 
If you are an EU consumer, you have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days, without giving any reason.
 
Withdrawal Period
 
The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day you receive the goods.
 
For orders containing multiple items delivered separately, the period starts from the day you receive the last item.
 
 
2. How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
 
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order by contacting:

Your notice must include:
• Your name
• Order number
• Item(s) you wish to return
• A clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the contract
 
You may use the Model Withdrawal Form below, but it is not mandatory.
 
 
3. Effects of Withdrawal (Refunds)
 
If you withdraw from your purchase:
• We will refund all payments received, including standard outbound delivery costs
• Refunds will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction
• Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice
 
We may withhold the refund until:
• We receive the returned goods, or
• You provide proof that the goods have been sent back
(whichever occurs first)
 
 
4. Return of Goods
• You must send the goods back within 14 days of notifying us of your withdrawal
• You are responsible for return shipping costs
• You are responsible for customs duties, taxes, and fees
• We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service
 
 
5. Diminished Value of Goods
 
You are responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.
 
In practice, this means:
• Items must be unused, unfished, and in resaleable condition
• Assembled, spooled, wet, or used fishing gear may result in a partial refund or refusal
 
 
6. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
 
Under EU law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
• Custom-made or personalized fly rods
• Sealed items not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons, if unsealed after delivery (e.g. flies, leaders, tippets)
• Goods clearly used after delivery
• Final sale or clearance items, where clearly indicated before purchase
 
 
7. Damaged or Incorrect Items
 
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect:
• Contact us within 7 days of delivery
• Provide photos and your order number
 
In such cases, return shipping costs will be covered by us, and you may choose a refund or replacement.
 
 
8. Non-EU Customers
 
Customers outside the EU are not covered by the EU right of withdrawal. Returns and refunds for non-EU customers are handled according to our standard Return & Refund Policy.
